Beautiful stone house and barns with great views.
It sits on a flat fully enclosed plot with fruit trees and garden with beautiful old fashioned rose bushes.
Located in one of the prettiest stone villages of the area with no through traffic and well known for the spring water supplying the village. Fabulous hiking routes directly from the village.
The house is in good condition throughout with the new kitchen, new bathroom and the new double glazed tilt and turn wooden windows and doors which supply natural bright living accommodation. It is south facing overlooking the village providing privacy and peace.
You walk through the new large oak gates into the covered barn where on the left you find the barn with an upper area that could easily be turned into a self contained apartment or even added into the main house for rural tourism. Straight ahead you walk under the stone arch to the garden and from here you will find another large barn that also conceals the hidden gem of a traditional smoke house and bread oven. You couldn't wish for more outside storage or even additional living accommodation.
The main house with its thick stone walls and recently insulated roof area provides a spacious light living accommodation. On the ground floor there is a large kitchen with the traditional Hergom stove that works on both coal and wood with a separate large utility/pantry room which is north facing to provide the ideal area for food storage. On this floor you will find the modern bathroom with a luxury free standing bath. There is a double bedroom and a dining room with patio doors leading to a terrace by the fruit trees and fruit bushes. There are greengage, pears, cherries, apples plus raspberry and blueberries.
Upstairs there are three double bedrooms all with balconies and a large living room with picture windows to take advantage of the great views.
The location is a delightful secret of Leon area with an altitude of over 1000m providing ample sun all year. It offrs a peaceful countryside lifestyle but with the convenience of Leon City only 30 minutes away plus many other smaller towns around including historic Astorga and Ponferrada. The Asturian North Coast and Oviedo are only 1 hour away. In winter there are several small ski resorts and the Picos de Europa just on the doorstep. The nearest bar is just 2km away and there is the daily bread van like in most villages.
The house has mains electricity, water and sewage plus a newly installed 5kw solar system.
